Brown
A medium-sized bird with a pure black body with a bright orange-yellow bill and ring around its eye. Females are a lighter brown all over, with a slightly barred belly. Juveniles are much more plump and have more barred and streaked feathers, particularly on their fronts.
Often seen hopping along the ground, Blackbirds can usually be found raking through the ground for worms, fruit, seeds and insects. A member of the thrush family, Blackbirds are known for their wide variety of beautiful songs and are a loud member of the 'dawn chorus', when birds begin to sing at the break of a new day.
