Description

Olive-green bodies and bright yellow and green tails, Greenfinches are quite recognisable by their colouring. A member of the finch family, females have more dull-coloured feathers compared to males.

Spotting Tip

Listen out for their drawn out 'tswee' call, which can often be heard in flocks. About the same size as a Chaffinch, Greenfinches can be identified by their bright yellow feathers visible in flight.
