Black crowned, white faced and a white belly, Pied Wagtails have very distinctive body language and are often flickering about from place-to-place. As their name suggests, their long tails 'wag' up and down when in motion which can help them catch insects.
Often found by water where they can catch insects flying above the surface, they can be found in woodlands and farmlands across the UK. Interestingly enough, Pied Wagtails can also often be seen in car parks in urban areas!
